The patio lock is a cylinder lock designed to provide extra security for patio or sliding aluminium doors.

It is installed on the inside of the door frame and requires a hole in the door, directly opposite the lock.

To lock the door, simply push the lock forward so the pin inserts into the hole, preventing the door from being opened from the outside.

This makes it an effective way to secure your sliding doors against unauthorized access.

Usage Instructions for Patio Lock:

  1. Install the Lock: Ensure the lock is properly installed on the inside of the door frame, with a corresponding hole drilled into the door, directly opposite the lock.
  2. Locking the Door:
    • Close the patio or sliding door completely.
    • Push the lock forward. The locking pin will slide into the hole in the door.
    • Once the pin is in place, the door is secured and cannot be opened from the outside.
  3. Unlocking the Door:
    • To unlock, turn the key & pull the lock back to retract the pin.
    • This allows the door to open freely.
  4. Regular Maintenance:
    • Check the alignment of the lock and the hole periodically.
    • Clean the lock mechanism to ensure smooth operation.

Alternative Uses for a Patio Lock:

  1. Securing Sliding Windows: A patio lock can be installed on sliding windows to prevent them from being opened from the outside, adding an extra layer of security.
  2. Locking Cabinet Doors: It can be used on large cabinet or storage unit doors to secure valuable items and prevent unauthorized access.
  3. Securing Outdoor Gates: The lock can be adapted for use on sliding or hinged outdoor gates, providing extra security in gardens or side entrances.
  4. Locker or Storage Shed Doors: For sheds or outdoor storage units with sliding doors, a patio lock can serve as an additional security measure.
  5. Restricting Sliding Partitions: Patio locks can also be used to lock sliding room dividers or partitions in commercial spaces, preventing access to restricted areas.
